Deadly Collision Involving Moped Reported in Landover

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – On Tuesday, at 7:30 am, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit began an investigation into a fatal collision involving a moped.

The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Archie Alston of Landover.

Officers responded to the intersection of Martin Luther King Highway and Columbia Park Road. The investigation revealed that Alston struck the front corner of a vehicle while attempting to cross over onto Columbia Park Road.

Alston was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was not injured.
