CHICAGO, IL – Deontae Johnson, 30, of W. Congress Pkwy, Chicago, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of Attempted Murder in the First Degree and one felony count of Aggravated Fleeing resulting in Damage over $300.
The arrest was made by the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on August 30, 2023. Johnson was identified as the individual who, on July 24, attempted to strike Chicago Police Officers with his vehicle while they were conducting an on-foot investigation. Johnson fled the scene, subsequently colliding with a Chicago Police Department squad car and a residential wooden fence.
Johnson is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court at 2600 S. California on September 1, 2023. No further information is available at this time.
