Spring Valley Man Indicted for Attempted Murder Following Knife Attack

SPRING VALLEY, NY – Joshua Jemison, a 32-year-old resident of Spring Valley, has been indicted on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, announced Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.

The incident occurred on September 5 at approximately 9:38 p.m. in front of 22 North Main Street in Spring Valley. Following a verbal altercation with the victim, Jemison pulled out a knife and slashed the victim’s neck, causing life-threatening injuries. Jemison fled the scene, evading police attempts to find him for several days. He surrendered to the Spring Valley Police Department on September 8.

The Village of Spring Valley Police Department conducted the investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Executive Assistant District Attorney Nabeela McLeod and Assistant District Attorney Celia Morel.
