Newark Man Faces Aggravated Menacing and Trespass Charges

NEWARK, DE – Mark Tate, a 40-year-old resident of Newark, has been charged with Aggravated Menacing and Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree after an incident on Pickett Lane. Police were called to the area following reports of a disturbance involving a handgun.

According to authorities, Tate approached a neighbor’s residence, accusing an acquaintance of the victim of trespassing on his property. Tate then entered the victim’s premises and pointed a handgun while demanding that the acquaintance come outside. Tate left the area before police arrived.

Police later located Tate at his home and took him into custody without incident. Two handguns were seized from the residence.

After being transported to Newark Police headquarters, Tate appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #11 via video and was released after posting a $3,001 secured bail.
