Calvert County Deputies Search for Driver in Solomons Hit-and-Run Involving Bicyclist

SOLOMONS, MD — Calvert County Sheriff’s Deputies are on the hunt for a driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a bicyclist injured.

The collision occurred on September 27 at approximately 7:56 p.m. on S. Solomons Island Road near Langley Lane. Deputies responded to the scene following reports of a crash between a bicyclist and a vehicle.

The investigation showed the bicyclist was heading north on S. Solomons Island Road with functioning headlights and rear reflectors. A white four-door SUV struck the cyclist from behind and fled the scene. Witnesses last spotted the vehicle crossing the Thomas Johnson Bridge, heading north on the same road.

Emergency services arrived at the collision site and transported the injured bicyclist to CalvertHealth for treatment.

The suspected vehicle is a white BMW SUV, believed to be missing its passenger-side view mirror. Investigators are requesting anyone with information, including possible surveillance footage, to contact Dep. R. Jones at [email protected] and reference case #23-68719.
