Virginia Man Arrested in New Castle on Weapon and Drug Charges

NEW CASTLE, DE – Trevon Majette, a 25-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, was arrested by Delaware State Police on weapon and drug charges.

The arrest took place on Monday evening.

At around 6:00 p.m., a trooper patrolling northbound on Route 1 near Wrangle Hill Road initiated a traffic stop upon noticing the driver, identified as Majette, using a cell phone.

An inspection of Majette’s Ford Edge revealed a strong marijuana odor, prompting further search by a DSP Narcotics Canine.

This led to the discovery of a concealed handgun with an extended magazine, rounds of ammunition, approximately 3.49 grams of marijuana, and $13,500 believed to be proceeds from drug dealings.
