RAPID CITY, SD – U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier sentenced Jeremiah Little, 40, of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to eight years and four months in federal prison for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance. The sentencing occurred on October 25.
In addition to prison time, Little faces three years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. The court also ordered the forfeiture of two firearms in Little’s possession.
Little pleaded guilty on August 11, following an indictment by a federal grand jury in September 2022 for the distribution of methamphetamine.
Throughout the spring and summer of 2021, Little operated primarily in Kyle and Pine Ridge, South Dakota, distributing approximately 200 grams of methamphetamine. On May 13, 2022, law enforcement discovered two firearms and drug paraphernalia in a vehicle driven by Little after a chase. A second pursuit in August 2022 led to additional seizures of drug paraphernalia.
The Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathryn N. Rich led the prosecution.
