Pittsburgh Man Arrested Following Stabbing Incident in Wilkins Township

WILKINS TOWNSHIP, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department has reported the arrest of a Pittsburgh man, Roger Hammond, 41, in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Wilkins Township.

The incident took place on November 8 at around 7:55 pm in the 3000 block of William Penn Highway. County 9-1-1 received reports of the stabbing, leading first responders to the scene. A 42-year-old male victim, found with multiple stab wounds, was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Wilkins Township Police apprehended Hammond at the scene. Investigations by the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit revealed that Hammond and the victim, who are acquaintances, were involved in a physical altercation inside a grocery store.

Hammond faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. Following his arraignment this morning, he was released on nonmonetary bond. The case continues to be under investigation, and further details may be released as they become available.
