BRONX, NY – The Bronx District Attorney’s Office has announced the sentencing of Charlie Vasquez, a 24-year-old Bronx resident, to 13 years in prison for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The sentence was handed down by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Joseph McCormack.
Vasquez’s charges stem from an incident on November 24, 2021, when NYPD Officers Robert Holmes and Alejandra Jacobs responded to a 911 call regarding a man with a gun at 2405 Beaumont Avenue.
Upon approaching Vasquez, he fired a pistol, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Officer Jacobs was shot in the arm, Officer Holmes in the chest, and Vasquez also sustained injuries.
The case was prosecuted by Omer Wiczyk of the Public Integrity Bureau, under the supervision of the Investigations Division.
