BALTIMORE, MD — A man was arrested in Baltimore following an armed robbery and handgun incident. On November 24, 2023, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Western District officers responded to an assault report in the 1700 block of North Monroe Street.

The victim reported being chased and cut off by her ex-boyfriend, Corey Thompson, near Coppin State University. Thompson allegedly blocked her vehicle near North Monroe and Westwood Avenue. During a struggle over their son, Thompson implied he had a gun, threatened the victim, and forcibly took her car keys.

Thompson fled in a red 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, which was later located by a K9 officer during an area canvas. Thompson was arrested, and a handgun was recovered from the vehicle. Family Crimes detectives have been notified, and Thompson has been charged with armed robbery and handgun possession. He is currently held at Central Booking.
