Tree Canopy Survey Scheduled in Township of Ocean by Davey Tree Expert Company

OCEAN TWP, NJ – The Township of Ocean Police Department has announced that starting on or about December 11, 2023, the Davey Tree Expert Company will begin a tree canopy survey in the Township of Ocean. This survey aims to assess the health and diversity of the area’s urban forest and identify any potential hazard trees that may require attention for safety reasons.

Residents should be aware that surveyors will not need to enter private property during the course of this study. The employees conducting the survey will be easily identifiable: they will carry a picture ID showing their affiliation with the Davey Tree Resource Group and will be wearing high-visibility outerwear with the Davey Tree logo. Additionally, their vehicles will be marked with magnetic signs indicating their association with the Davey Tree Resource Group.

The survey is expected to take about three weeks to complete, although this timeline may vary depending on weather conditions.

For residents with questions or concerns about the survey, Bill Brooks, the Tree Enforcement Official, can be contacted at 732-531-5000, extension 3386, or via email at bbrooks@oceantwp.org.
