NEW CASTLE, NY – Dustin Layme, a 26-year-old resident of New Castle, faces severe charges, including attempting to rape a child, following an undercover law enforcement operation. This operation focused on online child predators.

The investigation, led by the District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crimes Squad, revealed that Layme engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with an agent posing as the parent of a young girl.

Layme arranged to meet at a Greenburgh hotel on December 14, believing he was meeting the child and her parent. He was arrested upon attempting to enter the hotel room.

Further investigation involving a forensic analysis of Layme’s cell phone uncovered numerous videos of children in sexual acts. Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah and Homeland Security Investigations New York’s Erin Keegan have highlighted the severity of the allegations and praised the collaborative effort in the investigation.

Layme faces charges including Attempted Rape in the First Degree and Attempted Predatory Assault Against a Child.
