Prince Street Pizza Secures #7 Spot on Yelp’s Top U.S. Pizzas List

by Erica Schmidt

New York, NY – Prince Street Pizza, a beloved SoHo establishment, has earned the title of the seventh best pizza in the United States according to Yelp reviewers. Renowned for its Sicilian-style pan pizza, also known as SoHo Squares, the pizzeria has become a national sensation.

CEO and general manager Tony Sosa credits the popularity of their pepperoni pizzas, particularly the iconic Roni cups, to the pizzeria’s innovative approach. The pepperoni pizza leads sales, but other menu highlights include the Vodka Fra Diavolo Square Pie, The Fancy Prince, and the new Naughty pie, each boasting unique flavors and toppings.

The secret to Prince Street Pizza’s success lies in the recipes passed down from the owner’s great-grandfather, paired with the use of a brick oven that perfectly cooks the thick Sicilian pizza in about 15 minutes. The pizzeria’s dedication to quality is evident in its homemade dough and signature spicy marinara, which requires up to two hours of preparation using hand-ground ingredients. In collaboration with Hormel, they’ve developed a distinctive pepperoni known for its juice-holding cup shape, essential for capturing the pizza’s rich flavor.

Despite limited seating, with just a few tables outside, Prince Street Pizza’s fame has spread far and wide, thanks in part to social media. With new locations in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Miami, the original SoHo shop remains the most celebrated. The most popular and photographed pizzas include the Pepperoni, Spicy Spring, Vodka Fra Diavolo Square Pie, and Neapolitan Pizza With Roni Cups.

Yelp Elite Carlos H. raves about the experience, declaring Prince Street Pizza as the best he’s ever had, especially praising the pepperoni pizza for its unmatched crust, sauce, and pepperoni.
