Flagler County Deputy Injured in Motorcycle Crash on I-95

ST. JOHN’S COUNTY, FL – Deputy First Class Benjamin Stamps of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Motors Unit sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident earlier today. The incident occurred on I-95 in St. John’s County while DFC Stamps was en route to work.

A vehicle executed an improper lane change, colliding with DFC Stamps’ motorcycle and causing him to be ejected. He was immediately transported to Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, where he was listed as a trauma alert. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash.

Sheriff Rick Staly visited DFC Stamps in the emergency room, finding him alert and conscious despite his serious injuries, which include damage to his elbow requiring surgery. Fortunately, DFC Stamps is anticipated to be discharged from the hospital in the coming days and is expected to fully recover. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office requests the community’s thoughts for DFC Stamps during his recovery period.
