D.C. Police Arrest Suspect in Broad Daylight Armed Carjacking

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District officers have successfully apprehended 22-year-old Davonta McBride of Northeast, D.C., following a midday armed carjacking incident. The arrest occurred on March 6, after McBride allegedly carjacked a victim at gunpoint in the unit block of Bryant Street, Northwest.

Despite his initial success, McBride was unable to operate the stolen vehicle and subsequently fled on foot. Law enforcement officials swiftly located and arrested McBride in the vicinity, also recovering a firearm in the process.

McBride faces several charges, including Armed Carjacking, Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition. The quick response of the police highlights the department’s commitment to public safety and crime prevention in the nation’s capital.
