WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force has announced the arrest of three teenagers linked to a spree of violent robberies and carjackings in the city. The suspects, one aged 14 and two aged 13, all from Southeast, D.C., were apprehended on Wednesday, March 6, for their involvement in crimes that terrorized local residents.
The series of incidents began on February 19, 2024, with an armed carjacking in the 3200 block of Buena Vista Terrace, Southeast, where the victim was carjacked at gunpoint by two of the teens. Another incident involved an armed robbery and theft of an auto on March 2, 2024, in the 5200 block of Just Street, Northeast. Additionally, two of the suspects were charged with further offenses, including a carjacking on February 21, 2024, in the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast, and an armed robbery on March 2, 2024, in the 5100 block of Sheriff Road, Northeast.
These arrests underscore the efforts of the Metropolitan Police Department to address the surge in violent carjackings and robberies, ensuring the safety and security of the community.
