CUMBERLAND, MD – A disturbance at a Valley Street establishment resulted in two arrests on Saturday evening. Cumberland Police Department officers responded to the scene around 6:18 PM after reports of a commotion.

Samantha Leigh Booker and Desirae Nicole Washington were observed by officers attempting to incite fights and shouting at others. Despite multiple orders to leave the premises, they continued causing a disturbance from across the street. During the investigation, a victim alleged Washington had spit on him.

Both individuals resumed yelling, leading to their arrest. While Washington resisted, she was ultimately detained.

Booker, 36, was issued a criminal citation for disorderly conduct and released pending trial. Washington, 38, faced multiple charges including second-degree assault and resisting arrest. After processing, she posted a $3,000 unsecured personal bond following a District Court Commissioner’s review.
