Victims are threatened with immediate arrest unless they deliver money, specifically in the form of bitcoin. The police have issued a warning advising residents never to provide sensitive personal information, money, or access to their assets to anyone unknown. They also encourage discussing this scam with family members who may be particularly vulnerable to such crimes.
