NEW YORK, NY — A 27-year-old male reported a theft incident that occurred early Saturday morning on a northbound “1” train near the Broadway & West 242 Street subway station. According to police reports, the victim was asleep when unknown assailants took his cellphone and subsequently made unauthorized purchases using his Apple Pay.

The incident took place around 5:30 AM, with the perpetrators fleeing the scene on foot. Although there were no injuries reported, the theft led to financial losses for the victim due to the unauthorized transactions.

Authorities are currently searching for two males believed to be involved in the incident. The first individual is described as being about 5’9” to 5’10” tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a multicolored hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, and white sneakers. The second individual is described as about 5’6” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a light complexion, slim build, and facial hair. His last known attire included a black hat, black sunglasses, a black hooded sweater, black pants, and black sneakers.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation.
