Traffic Stop Escalates to Disorderly Conduct in Stafford

by Breaking Local News Report

STAFFORD, MD—A routine traffic stop turned confrontational on Wednesday evening on Plantation Drive. At approximately 6:10 PM, First Sergeant A.I. Assur pulled over a vehicle lacking a state inspection sticker, which quickly escalated due to the driver’s hostile behavior.

The driver began the encounter with aggressive language, cursing at First Sergeant Assur consistently throughout the interaction. Due to the intensity of the situation, Deputy D.S. Jett was called to assist. It was discovered that Deputy Jett had previously issued a summons to the same driver in March for a related issue. Despite the presence of a crowd of juveniles nearby, the driver continued to use profane language.

Consequently, the driver was issued summonses for disorderly conduct, possessing an expired rejection sticker, and failing to obtain a Virginia driver’s license.
