Cumberland Woman Arrested for Assaulting Police Officers

CUMBERLAND, MD — On Saturday, around 8:48 PM, Crystal Grady, 43, of Cumberland, was involved in a disturbance outside the local police station. According to the Cumberland Police Department, Grady entered the station without any lawful business and was subsequently ordered to leave.

The situation escalated when Grady returned to the police station early Sunday at approximately 1:29 AM. Upon entering the lobby, she brandished a pepper spray device at the officers present. Grady was promptly arrested and transported to Central Booking.

Following her arrest, she appeared before a District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center with a bond set at $1,000. Grady faces charges of second-degree assault, illegal use of a chemical device, and trespassing on public agency property.
