NJ Transit Agrees to Reimburse Customers for Unused Tickets

by Local News Report

TRENTON, NJ – Senator John McKeon has informed the public that NJ Transit will now be refunding passengers for unused one-way tickets bought before June 1, 2024.

Starting July 1, 2024, a new NJ Transit policy will require these tickets to be used within a 30-day period.

The decision allows customers who had purchased tickets without expiration dates to receive refunds before the new regulations take effect. This change aims to alleviate financial burdens on commuters who depend on NJ Transit for daily transportation amidst impending fare hikes.

Riders will be able to request refunds for their unused tickets from August 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
