Cape May Music Festival Marks 35 Years of Exceptional Performances

CAPE MAY, NJ – The Cape May Music Festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a month-long series of concerts from May 26 to June 23. Classical music aficionados, jazz lovers, and fans of live performances will find an array of events tailored to diverse musical tastes at various venues throughout Cape May.

The festival features a robust lineup, including performances by the New York Chamber Ensemble, which will present two chamber concerts. The New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players and the Bay Atlantic Symphony will each perform chamber concerts, with the latter also offering a full symphony concert at Cape May Convention Hall. New York-based trio BAILEN will bring their exquisite musicianship and vocals to the Convention Hall, adding a contemporary twist to the festival’s offerings.

Jazz enthusiasts are invited to a Jazz Brunch at the Inn of Cape May featuring Mary Lou Newnam and Ray Mallach. Additionally, Atlanta-based cellist-songwriter Okorie “OkCello” Johnson will showcase his unique blend of cello, storytelling, and improvisation. The heartfelt George Mesterhazy Tribute Concert will take place in the intimate setting of the Episcopal Church of the Advent.

The festival will also host the award-winning Atlantic Brass Band in a free outdoor concert during Memorial Day Weekend. The series will culminate with the Cape May Cabaret, featuring Erich Cawalla & the Uptown Band Orchestra at the Cape May Convention Hall.
