INDIAN HEAD, MD—Maryland State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal crash that claimed the life of a local man on Wednesday night in Charles County. The incident, involving a single vehicle, occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. on westbound Livingston Road, east of Marbury Freeland Place.
Tyvon Gray, 34, from Cheltenham, Maryland, was the driver and sole occupant of a Chevrolet Suburban. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Charles County Emergency Medical Services.
Preliminary findings suggest that Gray lost control of the vehicle, which then veered off the road and crashed. The investigation is exploring whether adverse weather conditions contributed to the accident.
The road was closed for over six hours to facilitate an extensive crash investigation, with Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration personnel aiding in the road closure.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team has taken the lead on this ongoing investigation.
