TRENTON, NJ – Governor Phil Murphy has expressed his approval following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in the cases of FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine & Danco Laboratories v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, which ensures continued nationwide access to mifepristone, a crucial medication used for abortions and managing miscarriages.
Governor Murphy, who participated in the legal proceedings by filing an amicus brief, highlighted the technical nature of the decision but underscored its significance for reproductive healthcare. He voiced concerns over the judicial challenges to reproductive rights, stating, “While we won this case, it is yet another sad reminder that there are too many judges around the country who are all too willing to accept baseless attacks on reproductive rights, and we must continue to remain vigilant in the face of these constant attacks on women’s autonomy.”
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to standing up for reproductive health care and emphasized the need for ongoing vigilance to protect women’s autonomy against judicial challenges.
