Police Investigate Shooting in Utica

UTICA, NY — Utica Police and Fire Departments responded to a shooting incident at the intersection of Winner Ave and Whitesboro St on Friday, June 15, at approximately 12:10 PM. Authorities were alerted to the situation following reports of a male victim shot in the area.

Upon their arrival, emergency personnel were directed to a nearby location where they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. The victim was promptly transported to Wynn Hospital and is currently being treated for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation of this shooting. The Utica Police Department is appealing to the public for any information related to the incident. Individuals with knowledge of the event are encouraged to contact the UPD Major Crimest Unit at (315) 223-3556.
