Suspect Arrested in Dorchester for Firearms Violations

Dorchester, MA – The Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force has arrested Terrence Wilkins, 34, of Quincy, following a shots fired incident earlier this month in Dorchester. The arrest occurred at about 7:55 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Centre Street.

Wilkins was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for multiple charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. Following his arrest, law enforcement secured his home and vehicle pending the issuance of search warrants.

The initial incident that led to these charges occurred at approximately 6:53 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 32 Vaughan Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found ballistic damage to a motor vehicle and recovered ballistic evidence at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to examine the details surrounding the incident.
