Yankees Crush Phillies 14-4, Hitting Six Homer Runs

by Breaking Local News Report

New York, NY — Aaron Judge homered twice to increase his major league-leading total to 39, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit his first two home runs for the Yankees as New York defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 14-4 on Monday night. This victory marked the Yankees’ first three-game winning streak since early June.

Judge, Chisholm, and Ben Rice all hit home runs off All-Star pitcher Zack Wheeler within the first two innings. Judge added a two-run homer against Yunior Marte, bringing his RBI total to a league-leading 99. Anthony Volpe contributed a two-run shot in the eighth inning, his ninth homer of the season, while Chisholm added a ninth-inning homer against catcher Garrett Stubbs, giving the Yankees their first six-homer game of the season.

The Yankees had not achieved three consecutive wins since their four-game streak from June 9-12.

Giancarlo Stanton, returning after missing 28 games due to a hamstring injury, went 0 for 4 with a walk. Chisholm made his first professional start at third base in just his second game for the Yankees.

Hi home run was hit using Aaron Judge’s bat, reportedly.

Judge’s performance included a homer off Wheeler’s sweeper, the first player to do so this season. His seventh-inning homer prompted chants of “MVP! MVP!” from Yankees fans, as it extended New York’s lead to 9-3.

The Phillies, who were on track for a franchise-best record, have struggled recently, losing nine of their last 13 games. Wheeler, now 10-5, gave up seven runs and walked three in five innings.

Yankees pitcher Luis Gil, now 11-5, struck out eight and allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings. He managed to escape a bases-loaded jam in the third inning, allowing only one run on a forceout by All-Star Trea Turner. Bryce Harper ended the inning with a warning-track flyout.

Brandon Marsh hit a solo home run for the Phillies in the fourth inning. Despite their recent struggles, the Phillies remain a competitive team, but their midseason slump continues to pose challenges.
