Investigators Find No Criminal Evidence in Maryland House Explosion

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal and ATF agents have completed their on-site investigation into a recent explosion that scattered debris across a local neighborhood and damaged surrounding homes. The focus has now shifted to analyzing evidence collected at the scene, including gas and electrical infrastructure, alongside interviews and video surveillance data.

Acting State Fire Marshal Jason M. Mowbray emphasized that while the investigation into the explosion, which tragically resulted in two fatalities, continues, there is currently no indication of criminal involvement.

Authorities are concentrating on accidental causes for the incident.

Mowbray expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families and praised the cooperative efforts of local emergency services, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, and other county officials in responding to the disaster.

Cleanup and repair efforts have begun, with teams working diligently to restore the affected area.
