Teenager Charged for Deadly Shooting of 47-Year-Old Bronx Man

BRONX, N.Y. — A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree murder, following the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old man in the Bronx on Friday evening.

At approximately 6:31 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress in front of 1600 Sedgwick Avenue, located within the confines of the 46th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered Miguel Cruz, 47, with a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported Cruz to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released due to his age, has been charged with murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
