Philadelphia police officer injured in crash while responding to call

PHILADELPHIA — A police officer from the 25th District was involved in a vehicle collision late Sunday afternoon while responding to an emergency call, authorities said.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:32 p.m. at 700 W. Luzerne Street, when the officer’s patrol vehicle was struck by a private vehicle. The officer’s vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side as a result of the collision.

The officer was transported to Temple University Hospital by fellow officers and is expected to be released following treatment.

The scene is being held for investigation, with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) involved in the ongoing inquiry. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
