Gunfire erupts in Mrytle Beach, Police Report No Injuries

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Officers from the Myrtle Beach Police Department responded to reports of a weapons discharge on the 90 block of Freedom Way on Friday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m., according to a statement from the department.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. Authorities confirmed that two individuals have been detained, and the scene has been secured.

An increased police presence will remain in the area as investigations continue, according to officials. The department has advised residents and travelers to take alternate routes while the investigation is underway.
