LAUREL, Md. — A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Laurel resident, Prince George’s County police announced Wednesday.

Darius Jackson, of Oxon Hill, is accused of shooting and killing 58-year-old Jerome Stocks on the night of November 26 in the 12000 block of Silverbirch Lane. Officers responding to the scene at approximately 9:05 p.m. found Stocks outside with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives quickly identified Jackson as the suspect, citing a dispute involving a family member of the victim as the motive. Investigators determined that Jackson and Stocks were known to each other.
