Fight escalates to shooting in Chesapeake parking lot, two injured

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake Police are investigating a violent altercation outside a business on Portsmouth Boulevard Sunday night that left two people injured, including one with a gunshot wound.

Officers responded to the 4100 block of Portsmouth Boulevard at approximately 9:17 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about a fight in a parking lot. Additional reports indicated that gunfire had erupted during the incident, police said.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female injured from the fight and an adult male who had been shot. Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities confirmed that the suspects fled the scene before police arrived. The incident remains under active investigation, and no arrests have been announced.

Police have not released additional details and urge anyone with information to contact the Chesapeake Police Department.
