Off-duty NYC corrections officer arrested for assault on Upper East Side

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City corrections officer was arrested Tuesday evening in Manhattan on assault charges, police said.

Nicholas Osbourne, 38, was taken into custody at 5:52 p.m. in the NYPD’s 19th Precinct.

Osbourne, identified as a city corrections officer, was charged with assault in the third degree.

Details surrounding the incident leading to the arrest have not been released.

The Department of Correction has not commented on the arrest as the investigation remains ongoing.

The arrest adds to growing concerns over off-duty misconduct among city employees.
