NYPD seeks suspect in Williamsburg groping investigation

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who fled after grabbing a woman on Metropolitan Avenue.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a forcible touching incident that occurred Wednesday, November 6, 2024, on Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

According to the NYPD, the incident took place at approximately 7:05 p.m., when a 42-year-old woman was walking westbound on Metropolitan Avenue. An unidentified male approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing westbound toward Grand Street.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black and yellow jacket, blue pants, and white sneakers. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
