Argument leads to fatal shooting in Northwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 59-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday evening in Northwest Baltimore, and a person of interest has been taken into custody, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 6:55 p.m. in the 5600 block of Groveland Avenue. Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a verbal dispute preceded the shooting. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, and a person of interest was detained at the scene.
