The victim, whose identity has not been released, was picked up by a passing vehicle, which was later intercepted by authorities at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Reece Road.

Fire department personnel transported the man to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment of what police described as a non-life-threatening injury.

At the scene of the shooting, officers discovered a backpack containing suspected evidence of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) distribution. Police did not provide further details on the items found in the bag.
