Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charge in Cumberland

Cumberland, MD – The Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday due to a traffic violation observed in the Centre Street area.

Upon conclusion of the traffic stop, officers requested the driver’s consent to search the vehicle. During this consent search, suspected crack cocaine was discovered.

Daryl Boyer, a 63-year-old resident of Cumberland, Maryland, was arrested following the discovery. He was taken to police headquarters, issued a criminal citation for possession, and released pending a District Court trial.
