STAFFORD, VA — A Washington, D.C. man was arrested Saturday after allegedly attacking a sheriff’s deputy during a heated confrontation over his wing order at a Stafford County Wingstop.

Verbal altercation turns physical
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Wingstop at 28 South Gateway Drive around 2:27 p.m. on April 5 following reports of a disruptive customer. Restaurant staff said the man was acting loudly, rudely, and aggressively toward employees.
When deputies arrived, the customer’s hostility shifted to law enforcement. Authorities said the man, identified as Cambric Hudson, 25, appeared intoxicated and refused to calm down.
“Deputies attempted multiple times to de-escalate the tangy trouble,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a social media statement.
Minor injury to deputy
As deputies moved to detain Hudson, he resisted arrest and struck one of them, officials said. The deputy sustained only a minor injury during the incident, and Hudson’s resistance added a short delay to his detention.
Despite the altercation, deputies were able to take Hudson into custody at the scene without further incident.
Hudson was charged with assault and battery on law enforcement, public intoxication, and obstruction of justice.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Hudson was transported for booking following his arrest. No additional injuries or damages were reported at the Wingstop location.
