SCHENECTADY, NY — Two separate raids carried out this week by Schenectady police resulted in the arrests of two suspects and the seizure of multiple handguns, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and other narcotics, authorities confirmed Friday.

On Wednesday, April 30, a search warrant was executed at 841 Stanley Street where officers recovered large quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with a handgun. David D. Brown, 55, of Schenectady, was arrested at the scene.

Brown faces multiple felony charges, including three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree, and one misdemeanor count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Just two days later, on Friday, May 2, a second search warrant was executed at 329 Paige Street. That operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine and two handguns.

Karina Cotto, 29, of Schenectady, was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree.

Police confirmed that the two investigations were unrelated but part of ongoing enforcement operations targeting narcotics and illegal firearms in the city.
