Baltimore, Maryland — A 24-year-old man was shot Saturday evening during a large gathering in Northwest Baltimore, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
At approximately 7:20 p.m. on May 3, officers from the Northwest District responded to reports of a large crowd in the 1900 block of Eagle Drive. Upon arrival, officers heard multiple gunshots and observed individuals fleeing the area. A subsequent search led officers to identify a crime scene in the vicinity.
A short time later, officers were notified that a gunshot victim had arrived at a local hospital. The 24-year-old male was found to have sustained gunshot wounds to his leg. He is receiving medical treatment, and no update on his condition has been released.
Police have not disclosed what may have led to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified. No arrests had been made as of Monday.
The area where the shooting occurred was being used for a large outdoor gathering, though officials have not stated whether the event was organized or permitted.
