15-year-old accused of opening fire on fellow teens in Baltimore double shooting

BALTIMORE, MD — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that left two teenagers injured Monday evening in Southeast Baltimore.

The incident unfolded around 7:39 p.m. on the 300 block of South Macon Street. Police arriving at the scene found a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the thigh and a 16-year-old male shot in the arm. Both were hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators later identified one of the teens as the alleged shooter. The 15-year-old suspect sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the incident. After receiving medical treatment, he was taken into custody and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility.

Detectives with the Southeast District obtained a warrant and charged the juvenile as an adult. Charges include attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple handgun offenses.

Gunfire exchange leads to arrest in teen shooting

The motive behind the shooting has not been released. Officials have not said whether the victims and suspect knew one another before the incident. The investigation remains active.
