GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A suspicious car parked near Hilltop Road late Friday night led to the discovery of two loaded handguns and more than a quarter-kilogram of suspected marijuana, police said.
Around 11:50 p.m., a 2021 Acura sedan occupied by multiple individuals drew attention near the intersection of Hilltop Road and Overhill Road. As officers approached, four people bolted from the vehicle. Two others stayed behind and were taken into custody.
Inside the vehicle, officers saw a handgun on the floorboard and conducted a search. They seized approximately 260 grams of suspected marijuana in packaging consistent with distribution, a digital scale, a loaded .45 caliber Glock, and a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun.
The two individuals arrested were identified as Ty Cristin Parker, 21, of Halethorpe, and Arjae Howard Mobray, 19, of Glen Burnie. Both are prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior convictions or legal restrictions and were charged accordingly.
The identities of the four who fled are still under investigation. Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Northern District detectives or the department’s tip line.
Investigation continues into fleeing suspects
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether surveillance footage or witness descriptions are aiding the search for the remaining individuals who ran from the scene. No injuries were reported during the incident.
A brief chase did not result in immediate apprehensions, and there was no indication of shots fired or threats directed toward officers during the encounter.
The Acura involved was towed from the scene for further processing, and officials are reviewing the vehicle’s registration and any possible connections to recent criminal activity in the area.
The seized weapons will be tested to determine whether they have been used in other crimes, officials added.
Officers continue canvassing the neighborhood for additional evidence or security video.
