BALTIMORE, Md. — Two men were arrested Thursday morning after police recovered firearms, suspected narcotics, and cash during a traffic stop in the 7400 block of Fort Smallwood Road, according to Eastern District officers.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 29, officers conducted a stop of a black Lexus. During the stop, suspected controlled dangerous substances were seen in plain view inside the vehicle. The driver and front-seat passenger were detained without incident.
A loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun was found on the driver, while a second firearm — a 10mm Glock — was located on the floorboard in front of the passenger seat. Officers also seized approximately 23 grams of suspected marijuana, 186 grams of suspected codeine, one suspected alprazolam pill, and nine individually packaged THC vape pens.
Also recovered from the vehicle and suspects was $2,016 in cash and a second loaded magazine found on the driver’s person.
Suspects arrested without incident and charged
The two suspects were identified as 23-year-old Donald Amechi C. Igwebuike Jr. of Silver Spring and 25-year-old Dawda Kairaba Jawara of Columbia. Both were arrested on weapons and drug charges.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and the suspects were processed without incident.
