Fatal 2nd Street blast ends in murder bust

Baltimore man nabbed in deadly morning shooting

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man has been arrested in connection with the May 11 shooting death of Albert Manning in the city’s Southern District, police said.

Ronald Hall Jr., 48, was taken into custody without incident on May 28 and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault, and handgun violations.

The original incident occurred around 6:47 a.m. on May 11 in the 3500 block of 2nd Street. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered a 37-year-old man, later identified as Manning, with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, homicide detectives assumed control of the investigation and subsequently identified Hall as the suspect.

Police have not released details on a motive.
