Man arrested in Swissvale for deadly South Side Flats shooting

Pittsburgh, PA – A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in the South Side Flats last month has been arrested following a coordinated operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police announced Tuesday.

On November 17, members of the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Violence Prevention Unit, and SWAT—alongside the U.S. Marshals Service Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and Swissvale Police—executed a warrant in Swissvale.

The suspect, 26-year-old Moniem Strothers, was taken into custody without incident. He was wanted in connection to an October 12 fatal shooting in the South Side Flats. Authorities have not released further details about the victim or the circumstances of the shooting.

Strothers has been charged with Criminal Homicide, Possession of a Firearm Prohibited, and Firearms not to be Carried without a License. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Allegheny County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
