Silver Spring, MD – A Mega Millions ticket sold in Silver Spring delivered a $4 million prize to a Montgomery County couple, marking the largest Maryland Lottery win reported during the week of March 9 through March 15.

The winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased March 10 at the Giant store located at 13490 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. Lottery officials said the couple who claimed the prize chose to remain anonymous and are considering using the winnings to purchase a new home.
The Maryland Lottery reported paying out more than $36 million in prizes during the week, with dozens of players across the state claiming significant winnings through draw games, FAST PLAY tickets, and scratch-off games.
Scratch-off prizes reach $500,000
Among the largest scratch-off prizes claimed during the week was a $500,000 win from a Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition ticket sold at Acme, 9507 Coastal Highway in Ocean City.
Another notable prize included a $100,000 winning ticket from the $1,000,000 Crossword scratch-off sold at a 7-Eleven located at 13880 Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring.
Several $50,000 scratch-off prizes were also claimed at retailers in Laurel, District Heights, and Frederick.
Additional prizes included two $20,000 scratch-off wins in Hagerstown and Landover and a $15,000 prize from a SKEE-BALL ticket sold at ABC Liquors and Lounge in California, Maryland.
Pick 5 and FAST PLAY winners across Maryland
Multiple large Pick 5 prizes were also reported during the week. Six $50,000 tickets were sold March 10 at the Soda Pop Shop on Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie. As of Sunday, one of those tickets had been claimed while five remained unclaimed.
Four $25,000 Pick 5 tickets were also sold at the Soda Pop Shop on Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville, with three of those still unclaimed.
FAST PLAY games also produced several notable prizes, including a $20,000 Mega Multiplier ticket sold March 15 at Royal Farms on West Padonia Road in Timonium that had not yet been claimed as of Sunday.
Lottery officials remind players to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them in a safe place. Draw game and FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after the drawing or purchase date, while claim deadlines for scratch-off games vary and are listed on the Maryland Lottery website.
