Brandywine driver killed in two-vehicle crash on Brandywine Road Saturday evening

A 60-year-old Brandywine man died at the scene after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with another driver Saturday evening, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Brandywine, MD – A Brandywine man was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Brandywine Road, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officers responded Saturday at approximately 6:05 p.m. to the intersection of Brandywine Road and Letcher Road for a reported collision involving two vehicles.

Police identified the deceased driver as Tony Andrea Johnson, 60, of Brandywine. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation underway into cause of crash

According to the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, the preliminary investigation indicates Johnson was traveling northbound on Brandywine Road when he appeared to lose control of his vehicle.

Investigators say Johnson’s vehicle then collided with another vehicle involved in the crash.

The second driver sustained injuries that authorities said were not considered life-threatening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
