Baltimore, MD — A man was found wounded on a West Baltimore block after gunfire triggered a ShotSpotter alert, prompting a police response late Friday night.

Officers responded around 8:36 p.m. to the 800 block of West Lexington Street, where they located a 51-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Southwest District responded to the scene and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No information about a suspect has been released.
